Our leadership

Joel Johnson
Joel is a licensed private investigator (NCPPSB #199418) and founder of Aubor Group. A former law enforcement officer in both rural and urban North Carolina, he brings expertise in discovery analysis, witness interviewing, and case documentation. Joel has served capital and non-capital felony cases at both the state and federal levels. Joel specializes in murder defense investigations.

Matt Causey
Matt is a licensed private investigator (NCPPSB #887900-PIA) and partner at Aubor Group. A former law enforcement officer and certified instructor in tactical human tracking, Matt leads specialized assignments—such as locating elusive subjects and analyzing terrain for evidence—that set us apart in the private-sector investigation field.
